Growing with Purpose, Unlimited Potential

Sterling Hollow Farm is deeply rooted in Vermont soil, shaped by the hard work, tradition, and land stewardship of both past and future generations. Today, we’re carrying that legacy forward with a renewed vision—one that combines thoughtful animal care, sustainable practices, and a strong sense of community. From preserving heritage breeds to creating spaces for learning and connection, we’re growing something lasting, with purpose in every step.

Meet Michele & Jim

A New Chapter Rooted in Purpose

We’re Michele and Jim O’Brien—owners of Sterling Hollow Farm. While farm life is new to us, it’s a natural next chapter. With backgrounds in business and healthcare, we’ve spent our lives focused on helping others and building strong foundations. After raising a close-knit family and spending years on the Cape surrounded by ocean air, we felt called to the Vermont mountains to begin something new—something lasting.

Sterling Hollow is more than a home; it’s a legacy in the making. It’s a place where we blend our love of animals, land, community, laughter, and healthy living into something we can share. This farm marks the second phase of our lives—a chapter built on gratitude, purpose, and giving back.

Michele O'Brien

Caring for people in a healthcare setting has been my passion since I was 17 years old. Caring for the land, animals and community will be my legacy.

Jim O'Brien

I spent my life in the business world but I always had a love for farming. I am proof that you are never too old to pursue a childhood dream.

Our extended farm family!

What Makes Sterling Hollow Special

A place to connect with nature, animals, and one another.

Everyone who visits says the same thing—it feels peaceful here. We’ve worked hard to maintain a clean, intentional environment that reflects our values. Whether you’re here for equine services, a scheduled event, or a personal visit, we’re glad to share a glimpse of life at the farm with those who connect with what we’re building.
